S-1 (Elk Grove resident) and V-1 were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, S-1 punched V-1 in the face while V-1 was holding an infant. S-1 also scratched V-1 when he attempted to take V-1’s cell phone. V-1 suffered visible injuries. S-1 was arrested then transported to the main jail

EGPD detectives served search warrants at two residences related to growing marijuana. Detectives seized over 400 marijuana plants and indicia of sales. Both suspects (Sacramento residents) were arrested then transported to the main jail.

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was operating a motor vehicle that was stopped for a vehicle code violation. Upon contact, S-1 was found to be on probation. A probation search of S-1’s vehicle led to the discovery of a controlled substance. S-1 was arrested then issued a misdemeanor citation and released.

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance then transported to the main jail.

Location: 2600 block of W. Taron Ct.
Suspect: SMITH, MARK (WMA, 56, ARRESTED)
Officers responded to the above location regarding a shots fired call at the Wine Liquor Shop. Upon arrival, S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was located in front of the business and detained. Officers determined that S-1 had been involved in a verbal argument with a customer while inside the businesses earlier. When S-1 returned an hour later, he fired the handgun into the window of the business. An employee was inside the store when the shooting took place. A search of S-1’s vehicle led to the discovery of a handgun. S-1 was arrested then transported to the main jail and the employee was not injured.
