Officers responded to the above location regarding a call for service where the caller had seen the front door to a residence open with several individuals loitering around. When officers arrived, they observed an unknown person pushing a large safe on a dolly to an awaiting Ford truck that was occupied by S-1 and S-2 (Stockton residents). When officers arrived, the person pushing the dolly fled on foot. S-1 drove away in the vehicle while S-2 was seated in the passenger seat. Officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop believing that a residential burglary had just taken pace. S-1 did not yield and led officers on a 2.8 mile pursuit that traveled through the Camden neighborhood. S-1 drove down Doncaster Court and fled from the vehicle while it was still moving. S-2 remained in the vehicle as it rolled over a curb and struck a tree. S-2 was immediately detained by officers at the scene without incident. Officers pursued S-1 on foot and established a perimeter around the area. With the assistance of an EGPD K-9 and helicopter, S-1 was located and taken into custody without incident. Officers later confirmed that the residence on N.Camden Dr. had been burglarized. S-1 and S-2 were arrested then transported to the main jail. The third person was not located.
