Katherine Albiani Middle School became the latest school in the district to address the issue of clowns when they sent out an email earlier this afternoon about a possible sighting near the school earlier today.  Principal Danielle Storey sent out the following email:

October 6, 2016

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Today, at approximately 12:00 p.m., three students reported to school officials at Katherine L. Albiani

Middle School that they saw a suspicious-looking individual near the school. The person was off campus

east of Bond Road heading northbound past Bradshaw. According to the students, he made no contact

with them other than to wave. The students did the right thing in not speaking to the stranger. School

officials immediately contacted law enforcement to investigate.

The subject is described as male with red hair. Although descriptions of the person vary, he may have

been in a yellow jumpsuit.

Out of an abundance of caution, officers investigated but did not locate the individual. They will continue

to monitor and patrol the area for any suspicious behavior.

Please know that we will have an increased police presence patrolling the neighborhood around our

school over the coming days. lf you have any information about this individual, please contact the Elk

Grove Unified School District’s Division of Safety and Security at (916) 686-7786.

Please continue to impress upon your students to follow these basic rules when walking to or from school

– Do not talk to strangers, even if they know your name.

– Always walk directly to and from school using the same path every day.

– Always walk or ride your bike with a group of friends.

– Run directly to school or home if you are approached by a stranger.

– immediately notify a school official or parent.

The safety of our students and staff is a top priority at our school. Students are encouraged to do the

following: “lf you SEE SOMETHING or KNOW SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING.” lf you have any

questions, please feel free to contact me at the school (916) 686-5210.

Sincerely,

Danielle Storey
