Sunday afternoon Elk Grove police were called to a residence regarding a domestic violence incident. The suspect, 37 year old Adam Neal, was involved in an altercation with the victim in the presence of two small children. Neal bit the victim on the arm and then threw a piece of electronics equipment at her, striking the victim in the head. The victim fled the scene and was locked out of the house by Neal. Two children were still in the home at the time.
Officers arrived and tried to make contact with Neal. They eventually entered the home and found Neal in the bathroom with one of the children. Officers repeatedly asked Neal to release the child and he did not comply. Officers were able to recover the child after the deployment of an Electro-Muscular Disruption Technology device. Both children were unharmed and Neal was transported to jail where he was charged with four felonies and one misdemeanor.
The incident required numerous police and fire personnel as well as the Sheriff’s helicopter
