This Week At LC

It’s been a week packed with activities here at Laguna Creek High School (LCHS). The home of the Cardinals had its Back-to-School-Night on Monday, August 21, 2017. It was an opportunity for parents to interact with teachers and get basic ideas of expectations and how to support their students to excel this year. Parents had the opportunity to spend a few minutes interacting with teachers and other parents in each of their children’s classes. The night was set up as if it was a school day. Parents went to their kids classes and when the “bell” rang moved on to the next.

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2017 was the Club RUSH Day. Students had the opportunity to interact with various club officials and sign-up for any that they liked or would want to know more about. The clubs include Drama, Dance, Video, Photography, IB homework, Cultural and many more.

The peak of this week’s activities was the LCHS ASB Movie night on Friday, in the Quad. The movie, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which started at 7:45pm, was free for students with ASB cards (I’ll write about this sometime soon) and $3 for others. Before the movie began there was music giving everyone the opportunity to dance it out or just some extra time to socialize. It was strictly an LCHS program and you could only get in with an ID card.

TIPS for Parents: Make sure you have your access to the ParentVUE. I was surprised when some friends told me their parents had no idea what it was about!!!! Access to ParentVUE helps you keep up with your child’s school activities, performances, and grades so you are able to better support them. GO GET YOUR ACCESS KEYS NOW!!!! That’s it from LCHS this week. GO CARDINALS!!!!
