This weeks high school football roundup for Elk Grove area high schools


In the game of the week, 6-1 Franklin visited 5-2 Jesuit for first place in their league. Jesuit remained undefeated in league play moving to 5-0 with a win over Franklin, 17-7. Franklin dropped to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in league play. Franklin will district rival Elk Grove on Friday.

In other action, Pleasant Grove won it’s homecoming game 57-56 in overtime over Davis. The loss dropped Davis to 0-8 for the year. PG improved to 3-5 overall. They will play Sheldon on Friday night.

Elk Grove visited nearby Monterey Trail and was easily defeated 48-7 to fall to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in league play. Elk Grove plays at Franklin on Friday. Monterey Trail kept their playoffs hopes alive, moving to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in league play.  They will play home vs Jesuit in a must win game.

Bradshaw Christian improved to 5-3, overall and 4-0 in league, defeating Golden Sierra, 42-0. BCS will host Stellar Prep this week.

Cosumnes Oaks (3-5) defeated visiting Bella Vista, 49-6. They will travel to Whitney this week

Florin (3-5) lost to Burbank, 44-6. They will play at Kennedy this week

Laguna Creek traveled to Kennedy, winning 35-18 to improve to 3-5. They will play at McClatchy on Friday

Sheldon, (6-2), improved to 4-1 in league play by defeating Grant 30-27 at Grant. Sheldon will host rival Pleasant Grove in a stadium the two teams share.

Valley dropped to 1-7, losing to McClatchy, 26-0. It was the third straight game the Vikings have been shut out. They will host Johnson on Friday
