Longtime Elk Grove resident, Jerry Braxmeyer announced he is running for the Cosumnes Community Services Board of Directors. Earlier this week, current board member Rich Lozano announced he would not seek re-election, but would instead run for the Galt City Council.
Braxmeyer’s campaign issued the following press release:
Today, Jerry Braxmeyer announced he is running for the Cosumnes Community Services District Board of Directors in November. The board governs the Fire Department in Elk Grove and Galt and maintains more than 90 parks in Elk Grove.
“I am a lifelong resident of Elk Grove and remember the days when the baseball coach might have to leave practice because he was a member of the volunteer fire department,” said Braxmeyer. “I am committed to continuing the strong legacy of excellent public safety in Elk Grove and Galt and outstanding parks in Elk Grove.”
Braxmeyer is a fourth generation resident of Elk Grove, living in the City for more than four decades. He currently lives in East Elk Grove and his mother, daughters and grandsons also live in Elk Grove. Jerry has been a small business owner in Elk Grove since 2010.
Jerry has been active in the Elk Grove community for many years, including involvement with the Elk Grove Food Bank where he served as the Vice Chairman of the Board for five years. In 2016, Jerry founded J.B.’s Pedaling4Kindness – a non-profit that collects new bikes for kids in Elk Grove during the holidays. Braxmeyer is a current board member for the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce.
“As I seek to continue my public service as a member of the CSD Board of Directors, I look forward to talking with members of the community about my campaign in the coming months.”
