The 2018 Western Festival Parade is in the books. The parade was shorter than previous years and didn’t feature any entries with animals. There just over 40 entries this year. The parade changed routes the past couple of years after spending many years starting in Old Town Elk Grove. City of Elk Grove Public Affairs Manager Kristyn Nelson and local businessman and City of Elk Grove Planning Commissioner Kevin Spease did a good job announcing the parade entrants.
One of the highlights of the parade was Elk Grove City Council Members Stephanie Nguyen, Pat Hume and Darren Suen doing a line dance to Bootin Scootin’ Boogie at about the 5 minute mark of the video.
The video was broadcast live on Facebook on the Elk Grove Laguna Forums Facebook page.
