Elk Grove police arrest three teens that tried to steal a new car

 

Shortly before 4 pm on Tuesday afternoon, Elk Grove police arrested three juveniles for attempted steal a new car from a dealership at the Elk Grove Auto Mall.

 

According to police, a witness observed the three suspects get into a new car that was parked on the street near the Elk Grove Nissan dealership. When the witness tried to prevent the suspects from taking the car, the three fled on foot to another car that was waiting for them. As the vehicle attempted to flee the scene, it was involved in an accident near Laguna Springs and Lotz Parkway.  The three suspects then fled the scene on foot. Elk Grove Police set up a perimeter and eventually arrested all three suspects.  The three suspects were black male juveniles, ages 16, 17 and 17. The three were taken into custody and taken to juvenile hall. They were charged with VC 10851 (A), attempting to steal a car and PC 182 (A) (1) Conspiracy to commit a crime.
