Elk Grove police officers apprehended two suspects after they stole a necklace from an Elk Grove woman on Wednesday.  According to the daily watch summary, the woman was opening her trunk when the suspects approached. 26 year old Terrance Boxley, of Sacramento, grabbed a necklace from the woman’s neck, and pushed her backwards, causing her to fall.  The necklace broke as a result and Boxley fled to an awaiting car being driven by 29 year old Parrish Smith, also of Sacramento.  The two fled on Elk Grove Blvd east towards Highway 99.

Two EGPD officers heading to the crime scene noticed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle, and conducted an enforcement stop on the onramp to northbound highway 99 from Elk Grove Blvd.  Both suspects were taken into custody and taken to jail.  Boxley, who was on parole, was charged with robbery, conspiracy, and a parole violation and is being held without bail. Smith was charged with robbery and conspiracy and is being held on $70,000 bail.
