Babe’s Lounge in Elk Grove seeks permit to play outdoor music in Old Town

Babe’s Lounge in Old Town is asking the Elk Grove Planning Commission to approve a permit to allow them to play outdoor music up to 14 events during the last 2 months of the year at their location at 9007 Elk Grove Blvd.  The permit would allow them to have  music outdoors, and only between the hours of 3-10 pm.

The venue was recently prohibited from playing music due to complaints from nearby residents.  The city issued an order for outdoor music to stop pending an application for a temporary use permit. The owner, Greg Shilin, has recently applied for a permit that would allow Babe’s to host music on a trial basis. They will need to comply with the Elk Grove Municipal Code regarding noise and it will be monitored by Code Enforcement during the trial period, if the permit is approved by the planning commission.  If there are more complaints or the business does not follow the noise codes, the permit can be revoked at any time.

The planning commission meeting is Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. City Council Chambers, 8400 Laguna Palms Way, Elk Grove, CA 95758. The meeting is open to all members of the public to attend and comment.
