The regular season for high school football is now over. It was a disappointing year for schools in the Elk Grove area. Only 3 of the 9 teams finished with winning records. Monterey Trail finished 10-0. Sheldon ended the season 9-1, with their only loss coming against Monterey Trail. Perennial powerhouse Elk Grove high school suffered their second straight disappointing season. Pleasant Grove finished the season 0-10. The playoffs start next.
Bradshaw Christian (6-4) lost a nailbiter to Rosemont last night, 21-20
Cosumnes Oaks (4-6) dropped their final game of the season. Losing to Davis, 40-26
Elk Grove (5-5) traveled to Oak Ridge and lost 31-13.
Florin (1-9) is done for the year. Their only win came on a forfeit in week 2.
Monterey Trail (10-0) finished the regular season undefeated with a shutout victory over McClatchy, 55-0. Now they wait to find out who they play next in the first round of the playoffs.
Sheldon (9-1) rolls into the postseason, winning their last 9 games. They shutout Franklin (2-10), 49-0. This was the third straight shutout loss for Franklin
Valley (4-6) was easily defeated by Cordova 63-12.
Pleasant Grove (0-10) remained winless with a loss to Jesuit, 48-21
