Beginning at 11 a.m., the parade will proceed south on Elk Grove Florin Road to Elk Grove Regional Park. Calling All Artists
The City of Elk Grove invites local, regional and national artists and/or artist teams to submit their qualifications for a variety of projects for the city’s Civic Center and Animal Shelter. The deadline for submissions is this Thursday, November 8, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. The City has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for public artwork to grace the civic center commons and various spots within the animal shelter. Public art is paid for by the City’s Percent for the Arts program, a program that sets aside a percentage of public construction project funding to support public art. For the application and more information on the project visit the City’srequest for proposal page at www.elkgrovecity.org.
Next City Manager Recruitment Survey
Your voice and opinion are important in the selection of Elk Grove’s next City Manager. As part of the recruitment process for selecting a new City Manager, the Mayor and City Council are seeking input from the community on what they consider to be the qualities, skills, and traits that are important for a new City Manager. Visit the City’s website at www.elkgrovecity.org to take the survey.
Military Street Banner Program
Elk Grove proudly displays banners on streetlights located along Elk Grove Boulevard and Civic Center Drive (between Big Horn Boulevard and Laguna Springs Drive). Displayed for one year, the banners feature retired or honorably discharged members of the United States Armed Forces residing in Elk Grove or those who resided in Elk Grove and are now deceased. Businesses or individuals may sponsor a military street banner for $150. Applications are accepted year-round. For more information, visit elkgrovecity.org/banners.
