Elk Grove police release photos of Winco shooting suspects

The Elk Grove police department has released photos of the shooting suspects involved with the incident that took place at Winco on Friday morning. According to police, the incident started after a verbal exchange between the 15 year old and the suspects as they exited the store. The suspects then got in their car, drove by the teen and shot him one time. He is currently in stable condition at a local hospital. The department is asking for the public’s help in identifying and catching the suspects.

ELK GROVE, CA – The Elk Grove Police Department is asking for the community’s help in locating the persons responsible for a shooting in the parking lot of WinCo Foods (8142 Sheldon Rd.) yesterday morning.

On Friday, December 28th, at approximately 4:56 am., two suspects (pictured below) were exiting the store when they had a very brief verbal exchange with the victim.  The victim, a 15-year old male, and his group proceeded to walk to their vehicle which was parked in the middle of the parking lot. The suspects got into a white Toyota sedan and drove towards the victim and his group as the group was reaching their vehicle. The Toyota sedan stopped and then the driver, wearing a grey and black-colored sweatshirt with “Cali” on the front, exited the vehicle, pointed a handgun at the victim and shot him. The suspect then got back into the driver’s seat of the Toyota sedan and fled westbound through the parking lot.  

Suspect #1 was described as a Hispanic male, 20-30 years old. The suspect was wearing a grey and black-colored hooded sweatshirt with “Cali” on the front, black sweatpants, and black shoes.

Suspect #2 was described as a Caucasian or Hispanic male, 20-30 years old. The suspect was wearing a black colored hooded sweatshirt with a red, white and blue logo on the front, blue jeans and black shoes. 

Anyone with information regarding this shooting is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8080 or Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357).  Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00.  Tips can also be sent via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message.
