Two Events Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The City of Elk Grove, Cosumnes Community Services District, MLK365, Greater Sacramento NAACP and other local partners will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during two events this month.

The first Elk Grove MLK Legacy Community Breakfast will be held on Saturday, January 19 at Laguna Town Hall (3020 Renwick Avenue) beginning at 8:00 a.m. Cost to attend is $20 for adults and $10 for youth. Registration is available at the door and on Eventbrite.

On Monday, January 21 Elk Grove residents are encouraged to walk with their neighbors at March for the Dream. Look for the Elk Grove tent at the start of the march at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Sacramento City College Bookstore (3835 Freeport Boulevard) and walk with us. The City will be handing out March shirts as well as 11×17 March signs. An Elk Grove exhibit will also be part of the Diversity Expo inside the Sacramento Convention Center. Elk Grove Restaurant Week

Savor the delicious flavors of Elk Grove during Elk Grove’s Restaurant Week, January 18-27. For ten days, local participating restaurants are offering unique menus, with a portion of your bill benefiting the Elk Grove Food Bank. This event is organized by the City, Explore Elk Grove, and the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce in partnership with local restaurants. New Moon (and New Year) Arising, Celebrate the Lunar New Year

Early February brings a new moon and the start of the Lunar New Year. Join the City’s Multicultural Committee and the Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation at an inaugural Lunar New Year Festival on Friday, February 1 from 6-9 pm. You’ll be immersed in vibrant sights, sounds, and tastes. Celebrate the new year and our diversity in Elk Grove, and learn more about the many cultures that make up our community. Admission is FREE!
