Attempted robbery of two teens after school on Tuesday afternoon near Franklin High School

Elk Grove police responded to an attempted robbery on Tuesday afternoon near Franklin High School.

The incident happened around 3:45 pm. Two teen victims were walking across the pedestrian bridge near Whitelock Parkway and Franklin High School when they were approached by two suspects. One of the suspects, suspect #2, punched both victims and demanded one of the victim’s phones. The victims fled without giving away their phone.

The suspects were described as Suspect #1, African American male, 5’8-6’0, 160-190 lbs., wearing a red sweatshirt and blue sweat pants. Suspect #2 was described as an African American male, 5’8-6’0, heavyset, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Last week there was a robbery after school near Morse Park.
