One teen arrested in assault and robbery in East Franklin area

For the third time in just over a week, there was an attempted robbery in the East Franklin area.

This incident happened around 4:15 pm in the 6100 block of Travo Way. A victim was walking when he was approached by two suspects. Suspect #2 pushed the victim down and began punching him. Then suspect #1 held the victim’s legs down and removed his shoes.

Both suspects then demanded the victim’s personal property. The suspect gave the suspects his property. Both suspects then rode away on bikes. Officers arrived on scene and located suspect #1, a 15 year old black male juvenile. He was arrested and taken to juvenile hall.

The second suspect not found. He was described as an African American male, 15-16 years old, wearing a red top, red/ black pants, red shoes, and riding a beach cruiser style bicycle.

Earlier this week there was an attempted robbery on the pedestrian bridge at Whitelock Parkway, by Franklin High School. Last week there was a robbery near Morse Park. All three incidents are in the same vicinity and took place within an hour or so after school got out.
