Get “Lost in the 50’s”

Enjoy classic rock n’ roll at a live musical revue hosted by the Elk Grove Arts Commission this Friday, March 15 at Sun Grove Church. You’ll be taken back to an era when rock n’ roll dominated the airwaves at an evening of classic crooners and songs. Tickets are $10 per person. For more information, visitwww.elkgrovecity.org.

Get a Free Oil Filter at Recycling Event on Saturday

Each year California generates 67 million used automotive filters per year. Filters are considered hazardous waste and are banned from landfills, however, they are also completely recyclable. If you’re a Do-It-Yourselfer, consider taking advantage of the filter exchange event on Saturday, March 16 from 10 am to 1 pm at O’Reilly Auto Parts at 8751 Elk Grove Blvd. You’ll dispose of and recycle your filter the right way and walk away with a brand new free filter, it’s a win-win!

Visit the Elk Grove of the 1800s during Early California Days

You don’t need a time machine to experience what life was like during the early days of Elk Grove. Early California Days is a new family-friendly event coming to Elk Grove Regional Park on March 23 and 24 from 10 am to 5 pm. Come see what life was like in Elk Grove in the 1840s to 1870s. Fur trappers will walk amongst the crowd while gun smoke hangs in the air from musket fire. Reenactors in period clothing will enhance the reality while food tempts your mouth and fun events like tug of war bring a smile. This heritage celebration is a free event. Parking is $10. Event sponsors include the Elk Grove Historical Society, Cosumnes Community Services District, City of Elk Grove, Native Sons of the Golden West, and many others.
