The city of Elk Grove came in at #10 in a ranking of the best suburbs in the Sacramento area, as rated by Niche, a Real Estate website that annually ranks the best cities and suburbs.
Niche uses several categories to come up with their ranking. The categories are public schools, housing, good for families, jobs, cost of living, outdoor activities, crime & safety, nightlife, diversity, weather, health & fitness and commute. The scores are weighted and then added up for the final score.

The top city in the region was Davis, which received an A+ overall rating. Other cities in the top ten included:
Gold River at #2, followed by Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Rocklin, Granite Bay, Roseville, Fair Oaks and La Riviera.
