S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was the driver of a motor vehicle stopped for a vehicle code violation. Upon contact, S-1 displayed objective signs of impairment. S-1 performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested.

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) and V-1 were involved in a verbal argument. During the argument, S-1 tried to forcefully take a piece of yard equipment that V-1 was holding but was unsuccessful. S-1 was arrested and then transported to the main jail.

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was known to be on probation and contacted in the above area. A probable cause search of S-1 and his property led to the discovery of tobacco products, a lighter, marijuana, and butterfly knife. S-1 was taken into custody, issued a citation and released to a guardian.

Suspect:  AMBRIS, FRANK (HMA, 35, ARRESTED)

Officers responded to call for service regarding S-1 using a pogo stick to break V-1’s vehicle window and then hit V-1 in the face with the stick. V-1 was able to take the stick away from S-1. Officers arrived and detained S-1. S-1 was arrested and then transported to the main jail.

S-1, armed with a firearm, and S-2 entered the business and demanded money. Fearing for their safety, the employees opened the cash register. Both suspects fled on foot with the register’s money northeast through the parking lot. S-1 was described as a Hispanic male, 20-30 years old, 5’10-6’0, 160-180lbs, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and gray shoes. S-2 was described as a Hispanic male, 20-30 years old, 5’9-5’11, 160-180lbs, wearing similar clothing as S-1 but with black shoes.

Members of the community having information regarding criminal activity can send tips via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on their cell phones, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message. Once users type in their message and press send, they will receive a confirmation text indicating that the message was received.

“Tipsoft” should not be considered a replacement for contacting the Elk Grove Police Department via telephone (916) 714-5115 (non-emergency), (916) 714-5111 / 911 (emergency) or (916) 691-0411 (anonymous tip line). Instead, “Tipsoft” should be seen as an alternative method of contacting law enforcement to provide information regarding non-urgent illegal activity, such as unsolved cases, vandalism, graffiti, theft and narcotics related issues.
