Throughout his life Bravo’s owner/founder Jim Brown has enjoyed the relationships and life lessons of his Mid-America and rural roots. Jim has experienced many seasons of agricultural bounties. Even at a young age he went on a touring harvesting crew throughout Oklahoma, Missouri, Nebraska, and Kansas in the early 60’s. He had a business at the age of 12 catching crawdads in surrounding creeks and selling them to fish bait stores around the lakes. At 14 years of age, he was driving grain trucks from the fields to the flour mills. He also had a paper route for 4 years, even through the bitter cold winters of Oklahoma. In 1971, at the age of 15, he was staying focused on life as a rancher, but he was also able to save enough money to buy a brand new Ford Mach 1 Mustang off the showroom floor. He then moved to California to be united with his estranged father who had a 40 acre ranch in the Coachella Valley. There he raised pigs, cows, horses, chickens, and rabbits, as well as carrots, corn, radishes, lettuce, and okra, and even tried a few crops of peanuts.
Over the years, Jim’s focus turned to animal husbandry and humane treatment and naturalistic horsemanship training. At his Wilton Ranch for the past 25 years, he has developed a passion and relationship for agricultural businesses, and the need for our fast paced society to reconnect to our farmers and ranchers. His desire is to educate the community about the necessity of our fresh foods and local produce to enrich their lives with healthier eating. In addition, his understanding of the value of natural meats and the avoidance of harmful antibiotics, growth hormones, and cramped feed lot environments has developed into a vision for a local community restaurant concept which embraces a healthier eating attitude.
So came the concept of Bravo’s Soup & Sandwich Shoppe where all the recipes are made from scratch, where fresh is #1, where local is a priority, and healthy eating is an absolute. One of the benefits of being located in California’s Central Valley is the great growing climate and fertile valley soils from the rivers that flow through our cities, communities and state. We frequent local certified farmer’s markets to support our small farmer families and use their passions in our recipes as well as support our local economy.
Chicago Fire was born of my desire to enjoy the flavors and textures unique to Chicago Pizza and share them with others.
I began researching and making pizza after moving out west from Chicago. Premium Wisconsin Mozzarella, separate thin and deep dish dough recipes prepared daily, and a third generation sausage purveyor from Chicago—the same sausage maker that supplied the pizzerias that made Chicago pizza famous—are just a few of the examples of my commitment to quality and authenticity.
When I opened the first Chicago Fire, I created recipes based on how great they taste, not how much time they take to prepare. There is simply no substitute for time when preparing great tasting food. That philosophy has resulted in what I refer to as an “accidental success.” It turns out, people enjoy socializing when dining out and appreciate having a little more “table time” to relax, not to mention the anticipation of that hot, crispy, buffalo wing or the cheesy, flakey, deep dish pizza made to order!
Our menu is strongly influenced by Chicago’s history and culture. Firstly, many of Chicago’s tastiest foods were created by Greek and Italian immigrants. Secondly, Chicago was once known as the pork capital of the world. Most of our sandwiches and pizzas have over a half pound of meat, staying true to portions one would expect in The Windy City. Lastly, we offer numerous “Fiery” foods such as Extra Hot Wings, The Great Chicago Fire Pizza, Spicy Italian Sausage, and of course our signature Hot Italian Beef.

The Sinful Treats story began decades ago in my grandma’s kitchen where I spent a lot of weekends watching everyone cook and bake. The kitchen instantly became my favorite part of the house. My aunts were my baking gurus, teaching me all the basics. Years later, I discovered a passion for business and decided to combine it with my love for baking.
Sinful Treats was established in June of 2009 at the peak of a recession, starting with our first and only product, “Food for the Gods”. With the desire to bring people amazingly delicious treats along with exceptional service, Sinful Treats grew to become a full service bakery and catering company. In June 2015, we launched the first of our baking mixes, “Food for the Gods”. After all these years, “Food for the Gods” remains our number one customer favorite. The treat that started it all keeps on going!
