They are clearing land at Grantline kitty corner to Big Oak Nursery, are they building more houses there?

I’m trying to picture where Big Oak Nursery is… Is it between EG Blvd and Bond?

I guess I could just Google it.

Between Bradshaw and Waterman. Adjacent to Derr Park. Something like 500-700 homes. All cookie cutter Elk Grove specials.

Realistically, what would you expect them to build there? Estate homes? Custom homes? Most new subdivisions are cookie cutter. Even in Folsom!

Only 2 subdivisions in Folsom are cookie cutter. :stir:

Which two? Anything newer is cookie cutter. Empire Ranch is. Also the homes built off Iron Point. The new homes coming in south of 50 will be too. If you move to Folsom, you will be getting a cookie cutter home. Just smaller with less chocolate chips. šŸ™‚

Iron Point and the ones off of Sibley and Glenn.

      Damn cookie cutter homes…

If I recall correctly it’s all RD-5-RD-7. They are channelizing and straightening the creek/watershed and putting in a mediocre trail in a narrow corridor. It’s ok but it’s exactly what they’ve built in the Franklin/Laguna area for years. Nothing special.

Are you kidding about the 500 homes?? WHERE will all that traffic go? Our roads are insane!

If it weren’t for cookie cutter homes some of us could never afford to buy a house, so they’re not all bad.

There’s going to be a lot more on the west side near the shopping mall.

My mistake: Fieldstone North along Grantline near Bradshaw will be 391 residential lots. I was confusing that project with Silverado at Waterman and Bond. That project is 651 residential lots. Both projects really aren’t bad. They are mostly SFH RD5 to RD-7. There’s no Multi-family housing. However the more SFH you build the more you’re required to build MFH somewhere else. Thus, my comment on the Folsom thread about high amounts of Multi-family units coming to SEPA.

The Fieldstone project was Rural Residential and Estate Residential prior to being rezoned.

      Kind of off topic here…..
Aren’t there new 1 or 2 acre lot homes going up on Sheldon East of Waterman or something like that?

I saw some beautiful homes on the way out to the Wilton Winter festival last weekend…….i don’t know what street I took, but they were large homes on large lots east of Waterman. Maybe on Bond?

The best homes in Elk Grove are on the east side. There are a few street south of Grantline between Bond and Calvine that have some really beautiful custom homes.

Everything seems to be cookie cutter. I heard about 10,000 new homes will be built in the next 10 years or so, was it? I think we are going to lose our little bit of country we had left.

There is nothing on the west side that compares to the nicer homes on the east side. The Sheldon Woods area, some streets off Bader and Corfu.

I’m messing with you. There are some nice houses over there. Family friend lives off of Sheldon. All the land… There are also nice homes on the east, but nothing like what you get off of Bader and those areas.

There are some nice custom homes around the lakes in LW, but the lots sizes are a fraction of those on the east side of town and the density is very high, making the overall neighborhood not as appealing as ones on the east side.

Custom homes in Lakeside? Are you sure? Which streets? I think you’re pulling my leg man.

No, in Laguna West around the lakes but not Lakeside. There are a few cul de sacs of them. I will have to look on a map and see if I can tell the streets.

      Agenta CT

      Hadderon Field CT

I don’t know if you can consider Bournville and Yorkshire CT custom homes…. 2 were built in 2007

Okay, yeah those are cool, but there are not a lot of them. Laguna Lake and Laguna Woods has some too, Also Valley Hi. There are some sweet homes that back up to the golf course.
