    I attended the meeting tonight of the Elk Grove Planning Commission

    These are the highlights

    Town Place Suites by Marriott. East Stockton Blvd between Bond and Elk Grove Blvd. 4 story hotel with 96 rooms.
    Meeting was continued from previous commission meeting due to some questions on the project. The number of rooms was reduced and reciprocal parking was obtained from the nearby bank. Commission approved the plan 5-0

    Sheldon Farms BBQ. Proposal for a lunch and dinner restaurant on the corner of Sheldon and Grantline Road.
    No live music or outdoor music. Applicant is owner of Future Solar and Silva’s Sheldon Inn, Jeffrey Adkins. Applicant will apply for a liquor license.
    PC motioned that the city council approve the project. Commission approved the project 4-0. Commissioner Maita recused himself due to business dealings with the project owner.

    Auto Mall. Replace existing 55 foot sign with a new 80 feet sign. Reader part of sign will be 68 feet high. Additional height of sign is an architectural design.
    New sign will be twice as big as current sign and 6 times more clear. Planning Commission approved the project 5-0 and forwarded to the City Council for final approval.
