Where do I dispose my old propane tank?

    Also, where do I dispose an old helium tank?

    I was told you could dispose of the propane tank only if you removed the valve on top. Then is is garbage or recycle

    Thanks Plasma. I was told the same thing about our helium tank, also had to write the word “Empty” on it, but they just left it behind. I’ll try again and include our propane tank and see if they pick it up.

    You can take them to one of the transfer stations.

    Empty propane tanks and helium tanks can be accepted at the City’s Special Waste Collection Center. Please visit the City’s web site at http://www.elkgrovecity.org/city_hall/departments_divisions/garbage_recycling/special_waste_collection_center/ for our operating hours.
