In a press release issued this morning by Elk Grove Mayoral Candidate Kevin Spease, he announced he has received the endorsement of the Elk Grove Police Officers Association.
“We are honored to endorse Kevin Spease for Mayor. He is not only a leader in the community, but shares our commitment to keeping our community safe,” said Officer Greg Moore, President of Elk Grove Police Officers Association.
Elk Grove founded its Police Department in 2006. The city currently has one of the lowest violent crime rates in the region.
“I’m energized by such enthusiastic support from Elk Grove Police Officers,” responded Spease. “They are out there, putting their lives on the line to protect residents. I look forward to working with them to fight crime and keep our neighborhoods safe.”
“As Mayor, my top priority will be protecting residents from crime and gangs. To do that, we need to invest in retention and training and technology to keep Elk Grove a safe place to live, work and raise a family,” said Spease.
Spease is one of 6 candidates that have announced they are running for Mayor of Elk Grove. The other 5 are Joel Broussard, Elk Grove City Councilman Steve Ly, Michael Monasky, Garrett Smith and Tracie Stafford. The filing deadline is August 12.
