A verbal altercation led to a man later returning and firing a gun through the window of a liquor store in the Stonelake area. 56 year old Elk Grove resident Mark Smith was arrested by Elk Grove police. No one was injured in the shooting.

Officers responded to the above location regarding a shots fired call at the Wine Liquor Shop. Upon arrival, S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was located in front of the business and detained. Officers determined that S-1 had been involved in a verbal argument with a customer while inside the businesses earlier. When S-1 returned an hour later, he fired the handgun into the window of the business. An employee was inside the store when the shooting took place. A search of S-1’s vehicle led to the discovery of a handgun. S-1 was arrested then transported to the main jail and the employee was not injured.
