EGUSD to vote on elementary school boundaries September 6

Elk Grove Unified School District Board of Trustees to vote on elementary school boundaries

On Tuesday, September 6, the EGUSD Board of Trustees will be voting on the boundaries for two new elementary schools in the district. One school will be in the Anatolia area near Sunrise and the other in the Laguna Ridge/Madeira area of Elk Grove. Both schools will be opening for the fall of 2017.  This will affect students attending Sunrise, Arlene Hein and Franklin Elementary schools. The meeting will begin at 6 pm. Meeting agenda

Attendance at Hein will be reduced significantly with the opening of the new school. Students living east of Bruceville will now attend the new unnamed school. At the community meetings at the various schools, it was discussed that some students will be “grandfathered” in and stay at their current schools. The goal of the district is to have all students attend the school in the home area. Parents wanting an exception can discuss it with the principal at the current school and it will be decided on a case by case basis.
