More details on Friday’s EGPD pursuit that led to a car crashing into a home

As we reported on Saturday, the Elk Grove Police Department was in pursuit of a vehicle that eventually crashed into a house in Elk Grove. More details on the incident have been released.Officers responded regarding a vehicle (Mercedes SUV with disabled plates) driving recklessly in the area. An earlier call for service in the same area indicated that a Mercedes SUV was possibly casing the neighborhood. An EGPD officer located the Mercedes SUV and attempted to conduct a vehicle stop. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as James Graham, 24, (Sacramento resident), did not yield and led the EGPD officer on a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit travelled one mile before the officer terminated the pursuit due to the public safety risk. Shortly after the pursuit had been terminated, officers discovered that the suspect vehicle had crashed into a residence in the 9200 block of Orange Crest Ct. The driver of the vehicle, Graham, was observed running away from the scene of the collision. A perimeter was established and Graham was eventually located and taken into custody. The additional passengers in the vehicle fled on foot and were not located. Graham was arrested then transported to the main jail after being medically cleared for incarceration. The Sheriffs Department helicopter aided in the search for the suspects.
