Spotlight On Business: Sinful Treats

Sinful Treats was founded in 2009. It started in a home kitchen out of Mariel Black’s love for baking and passion for business. Mariel’s very first product is a Filipino pastry with dates and walnuts called Food for the Gods. Starting a business during a recession with a product that no one knew about was beyond challenging. But with hard work, tenacity and lots of support, Sinful Treats eventually grew to be a success!

Sinful Treats offers catering service and caters to companies in Elk Grove, Sacramento and surrounding cities. Gourmet cookies, desserts, cakes, pies and other treats are available online. Most products can be shipped nationwide, making it easy and convenient for retail customers to send Holiday gifts anywhere in the US. For those who love to bake, Sinful Treats now has their own baking mix, Food for the Gods Baking Mix, available at local supermarkets in town. You will find their all natural baking mixes at SaveMart locations in Elk Grove and Sacramento, as well as Island Pacific Seafood Market in Elk Grove.

Since 2011, Sinful Treats has been baking cookies for the biggest holiday event in Old Sacramento, the Polar Express by the CA State Railroad Museum Foundation. Each year, starting in November, the Sinful Treats crew turn into Santa’s little helpers and bake around 30,000 cookies for the Railroad Museum. 30,000 kids and adults dressed in pajamas, enjoy Snickerdoodles and Chocolate Chip Cookies, along with hot chocolate aboard the Polar Express. They get to meet Santa and all the characters from the Polar Express movie. This year is extra special because Sinful Treats will be baking special Halloween cookies for a new ride, The Spookomotive Train!
