Elk Grove Police search for Subway armed robber

The Elk Grove Police Department is searching for a man who is suspected of holding up the Subway Restaurant near Franklin and Laguna Blvd. The suspect fled on foot. The Sheriff’s helicopter is aiding in the search for the suspect. Police are searching the area between Laguna Blvd and Valley Hi Country Club as of 9 pm. If you live in the area, turn on your backyard lights, lock your doors and stay indoors. The suspect is wearing dark clothing and is armed with a gun.

Update at 9:45pm. Suspect was not located and they have broken down the perimeter

This is the third armed robbery in the immediate area in three days. Friday night the Jack in the Box across the street was robbed. Early Saturday morning the Starbucks in the same area as Subway was robbed. No word on if the robberies are connected. Residents in the Laguna area of Elk Grove are on edge as evidenced by the comments on the Elk Grove Laguna Forums Facebook page.
