Michelle Orrock lives in East Elk Grove with her family – husband Chris, and son Ben. Her son Jacob serves in the United States Marine Corps. She is currently the Regional Director, State Affairs for Molina Healthcare. Previously, she served as the California communications director for the National Federation of Independent Business, and was the former communications director for the Governor’s Office of the Secretary of Education.


Michelle was first elected to the Board of Directors of the Cosumnes Community Services District (Cosumnes CSD) in November 2008. Cosumnes CSD is the provider of fire service in the Cities of Elk Grove and Galt, and maintains more than 90 parks in the City of Elk Grove. Michelle served as Vice President of the Board of Directors from 2008-2010 and in 2015 and as President in 2011 and 2016. She serves as the liaison to the City of Galt and the Elk Grove Senior Center.


During the recent economic downturn, Michelle has been committed to ensuring that every taxpayer dollar is spent wisely and with the most benefit to the constituents she serves. As revenues have returned to the District, she continued to be a strong advocate for responsible spending and efficient government. Public safety is a high priority and Michelle recently voted to add an additional ambulance to ensure a high level of service is being provided to the community.


Michelle has also worked closely with the business community and is an active member of both the Elk Grove Chamber and Sacramento Metro Chamber. In addition, she has worked with the Old Town Elk Grove Foundation on the annual Dickens Street Faire.


Michelle is currently a board member for the American Leadership Forum, Mountain Valley Chapter. She is a past president and board member for CA Women LEAD, an organization that encourages women to run for elected office and apply for appointments. She also served as the chair of the Elk Grove Charter Exploratory and Election Reform Committee.


Michelle participates in the annual Christmas toy drive with the Cosumnes Fire Department and Elk Grove Police Department, which provides gifts for children at Christmas. She is a regular participant in other community activities such as National Night Out, the Elk Grove Strauss Festival, Western Festival, and Giant Pumpkin Festival.
