Elk Grove man assaulted by 5 juveniles

An Elk Grove man was assaulted Monday afternoon around 3:15 pm. The incident took place in the 10000 block of Wild Orchid Way, in the East Franklin area. According to Elk Grove Police, the victim was walking down the street when he was confronted by 5 juveniles, 4 black males and one Hispanic female. The suspects hit the victim in the face and head several times causing visible injuries. The female then took his cell phone and backpack. The suspects fled on foot. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Officers were not able to locate the suspects.
