Elk Grove Police respond to calls of shots fired early Sunday morning

Around 2:30 am Sunday morning Elk Grove police officers responded to calls of shots being fired in the 5300 block of White Lotus Way. When officers arrived on the scene they found evidence of the shooting at the scene. Around the same time a shooting victim arrived at a local hospital, driven there by a private vehicle. The victim was suffering from a gun shot wound to the leg.

During their investigation, officers determined that there was a party at the residence and an altercation took place. The individuals involved in the altercation went outside where there was an exchange of gunfire that resulted in the wound to the leg of the victim. The victim was treated and released. At least three vehicles were hit by gunfire. The investigation is continuing.
