Street Closures and Detours Scheduled on Thanksgiving Morning for the Elk Grove Turkey Trot
The 8th annual Elk Grove Turkey Trot, organized by Courage Worldwide, offers Elk Grove runners and walkers a chance to burn off a few extra calories before the big feast with 5K, 10K and ¼ mile kids run events scheduled on Thanksgiving morning, November 24. The route starts and finishes from Longleaf Drive again this year. To accommodate the event, road closures and alternative routes around the event have been set up between the hours of 6:00 am to 11:00 am. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly.
Street Closures and Detours for Thursday, November 24:

• Both directions of Longleaf Drive will be closed from 6:00 am to 11: 00 am. Use Laguna or Elk Grove Boulevards as alternate routes.
• Eastbound Laguna Blvd will be closed at Laguna Springs Drive from 8:00 am to 8:30 am.
• Southbound Laguna Springs at Laguna Blvd. will be closed from 8:00 am to 8:30 am.
• Eastbound Bond Road at Highway 99 will be closed from 8:00 am to 8:30 am.
• Northbound Highway 99 Bond Road off-ramp will be closed from 8:00 am to 8:30 am.
• Both directions of East Stockton Boulevard between Bond Road and Emerald Vista Drive will be closed at 8:00 am.
• Northbound Williamson Drive will be closed for local traffic only during the run.
• All neighborhood traffic east of Highway 99 south of Bond Road and North of Elk Grove Blvd. within the run route will be controlled for local traffic only.

More than 2,000 runners participated in the Turkey Trot in 2015. Registration for the run is available online at http://courageworldwide.org/event/2016-elk-grove-turkey-trot/.
