Fatal accident on northbound I-5 near Cosumnes River Blvd exit

A big rig crash on northbound Interstate 5 this morning has killed one person. The accident took place around 5:15 am near the Cosumnes River Blvd interchange, just north of Elk Grove. The big rig collided with the car and the car ended up under the big rig. I-5 remains open, but expect delays this morning as the CHP investigates the accident. The wet road conditions likely played a part in the accident. No word on any other injuries or when all lanes will be reopened.
