Sexual assault at Bartholomew Sports Park on Thursday

Elk Grove police are continuing their investigation into a possible sexual assault at Bartholomew Sports Park. Unconfirmed reports from witnesses indicate that in the late afternoon, screams were heard from one of the bathrooms at the park. Elk Grove police were called and multiple male suspects were detained according to witnesses. Details are sketchy and Elk Grove police are continuing their investigation and are unable to comment on the incident, but did say a 16 year old male was arrested on several charges related to sexual assault. Unconfirmed reports are that the girl was under age, was in the bathroom and held there against her will.

Bartholomew Sports Park is located near the corner of Whitelock Parkway and Franklin High School Road. The park is operated by the Cosumnes Community Services District.
