City of Elk Grove to open sand bag sites in anticipation of powerful storms
The northern California area is expected to hit with a series of powerful storms that are causing local communities to get ready in the event of local flooding. The storms are expected to hit Saturday and continue on through the Monday.
The City of Elk Grove is opening up it’s sandbag distribution locations starting Friday morning at 8 am. The site at the City’s Corporation Yard on Iron Rock Way will only be open during regular business hours (8:00AM to 5:00PM). Self Service locations will be open around the clock, 24/7 as long as there is a need. These sites will be monitored to ensure ample supply of bags and sand.
