Elk Grove Police investigating stolen car involved in hit and run accident

Shortly after 12:30 this afternoon a stolen car was involved in a hit and run accident in the CVS parking lot at 5040 Laguna Blvd, near the intersection of Laguna Blvd and Franklin Blvd.  Shortly after that the stolen car involved in hit and run, a silver Infiniti sedan, was found parked on the grass on the northeast corner of Laguna Blvd and Laguna Springs, near Mimi’s restaurant. The driver of the car, a white female wearing a gray sweatshirt, was seen running towards the Holiday Inn Express hotel nearby.

Officers from the Elk Grove Police Department and CHP surrounded the hotel and had officers stationed near all the exits. After more than 30 minutes of searching the hotel, the suspect was not found. Officers were then seen searching the residential area north of Home Depot.

It was just one week ago that the same area was the point of an intense manhunt involving multiple police agencies after a Jamba Juice was robbed on Saturday night. Three suspects were arrested and an Elk Grove Police K9 was shot in the leg. The K9 is doing well and recovering at home.
