14 year old arrested for trying to steal bike and assaulting victim

A 14 year old Elk Grove resident was arrested yesterday for attempting to steal a bicycle and assaulting the victim.

The bicycle was locked in a bike rack when the suspect cut the lock and attempted to remove the bike. The victim stopped the suspect and took the bike back. The suspect then hit the victim twice in the face and tried to take the bike again. The victim was able to hold onto the bike and took it inside of a building.

The suspect threatened the victim and then fled. Elk Grove police arrived and found the suspect.  He was arrested and transported to juvenile hall
