Elk Grove police arrest two in armed robbery of pedestrian


Around 5:30 pm Monday a pedestrian was walking near the area of Starfish and Trenholm when he was approached by two men, later identified as Francisco Castro, 18 of Elk Grove and Ezra Carter, 18 of Sacramento. The suspects demanded the victim’s phone and backpack. When the victim refused, Castro pulled out a handgun, while Carter took the victim’s backpack and phone.  The suspects then fled on foot. The victim called police who, through their investigative efforts were able to located the suspects. Carter was in possession of the stolen items. Both were arrested and transported to jail.
