Alert citizen helps catch would be bank robber in Elk Grove

 

An alert citizen helped police catch a would be bank robbery late Tuesday afternoon.  The citizen observed a man heading towards the Bank of the West branch located at 8426 Elk Grove – Florin Road. The man was seen putting on a mask and holding a gun. The suspect saw that he was spotted and fled the area.

 

The witness called police and gave a description of the suspect and the vehicle.  Elk Grove police conducted an enforce stop and arrested 27 year old Cameron Sharpe of Citrus Heights.  Sharpe was in possession of a ski mask and black BB gun. He is charged with first degree attempted robbery and held on $50,000 bail
