Man demands money from two local businesses, leaves empty handed

In what was a bizarre set of circumstances, a man walked into two local businesses late Monday night and demanded money and left when the employees said no.

The first incident happened Sno Bites, located at 9170 Elk Grove – Florin Road, near the corner of Bond and Elk Grove – Florin Road, just after 10 pm.  The man walked into the store and demanded money from an employee. The employee refused and the man fled the store.  The man was described as a white male in his 20’s, wearing a dark sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Approximately 40 minutes later, a man matching that description went into the Chevron gas station near the corner of Bond of East Stockton Blvd and again demanded money from an employee. The employee refused and the man fled the gas station.  Elk Grove police were unable to find the suspect. They believe it is the same man.
