One of the biggest complaints from Elk Grove residents is the lack of family entertainment options in the city. All of that is about to change with the opening of CaliGlo Indoor Entertainment this month. The business will feature an 18 hole indoor glow in the dark mini golf course, and indoor and outdoor laser tag.
Elk Grove resident Cameron Lee is the man behind the new business and he gave me and my 13 and 15 year old sons a tour of the soon to be opened business today. The walls for the glow in the dark mini golf are up and the holes are being installed this week. The holes and art work will feature California, including scenes from Hollywood, the State Capital, Napa Wine Country, San Diego, San Francisco and more. He turned off the lights for us and gave us a sneak peak at what it will look like.
Lee said the lazer tag will be unlike any other in the area. If you are familiar with Call of Duty and other similar online games, you will love this. Gone are the bulky vests you’ll find at other lazer tag businesses. Players will wear blue tooth headsets similar to online gaming. Shots to the head mean an immediate kill. Once a player is “killed” they must go to another location to restart their play. Gone are the days of getting “shot” and then having that person sit there for 5 seconds and shoot you again. This will make the game more fun and challenging Lee said. The lazer tag description got two thumbs up from my two sons who are avid gamers.
Lee said CaliGlo will have a VIP reception next weekend with the regular opening after that. CaliGlo will be located in the same center as Pins N Strikes and California Family Fitness. 3443 Laguna Blvd, Suite 130.
It’s a busy time for Lee as he just transformed the former Double Nickel Smokehouse into Local Burger, a new restaurant that is getting rave reviews early on from customers. Local Burger just had it’s official opening on Friday, June 30.
