Suspect in last week’s standoff arrested again by Elk Grove police

 

 

The suspect in last week’s standoff on Cleary Circle was arrested again last night by Elk Grove police officers.  This time for violating a restraining order. The arrest took place shortly before midnight last night on the 4700 block of Cleary Circle. Jerry Jessup, 43, of Elk Grove was arrested and charged with PC 273.6, felony willful violation of an order, re domestic violence and PC 13700, felony domestic violence definition. He is being held on $35,000 bail. Jessup was the only person in the residence at the time of the arrest.

While on scene, officers smelled gas. Cosumnes Fire and PG&E were called.  No word on if there was an actual leak.

 

Last week Jessup was arrested on felony negligent discharge of a firearm, and felony child endangerment after he discharged a weapon late Sunday, July 23. Police searched for Jessup and were unable to find him. The following day they received word he was back at the residence. Police surrounded the home and called in a SWAT team. Jessup was later found and arrested at another location.
