Man attacked with shovel handle, then intentionally hit by suspect’s vehicle while driving

 

Early Friday morning Elk Grove police responded to the scene of an altercation that took place around 1:30 am in the 9100 block of Willowberry Way. The suspect, 46 year old Darrell Rogers of Elk Grove, allegedly struck the victim in the back of the neck and head area with a wooden shovel handle.  The victim them fled in a vehicle and was pursued by Rogers, who allegedly ran into the vehicle intentionally after crashing into a fence at a nearby residence. Elk Grove police officers located the vehicle and took Rogers into custody.

 

Rogers is being held on a $565,000 bail
