Elk Grove police arrest man in shooting last night

 

 

One man is in custody after he tried to shoot a victim standing in his garage.

 

Elk Grove police were called to the scene at the 8900 block of Laguna Vista Court.  The victim was in his garage, when the suspect, who was known to the victim, fired two shots at the victim while he was in his garage. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

 

While officers were searching the area, a call came into dispatch regarding a suspicious man. Officers arrived at the 9400 block of Laguna Creek Drive and took the suspect into custody without incident.  The handgun used in the shooting was recovered and revealed to be a reported stolen handgun.  The victim was uninjured. The suspect arrested is 23 year old Johnny Turnbull of Elk Grove.

 

According to archives of Elk Grove Laguna News for past Elk Grove police daily watch summaries, Turnbull had two arrests in 2016.
