It has been a jam packed week here at Laguna Creek High School. This week was homecoming week and we made sure that every day leading up to homecoming itself was amazing. On Monday we had color day where students wore a single color or as many as possible. Tuesday was dynamic duo day where kids dressed up as an iconic duo such as SpongeBob and Patrick, or just twinned. Wednesday was the craziest of all, CHAD Day or crazy hair and dress. Everyone came decked out in some crazy outfits and got to show their creative side. Thursday was D- day where everyone came dressed as something that started with the letter D. The outfits ranged from Dora and Diego, to dads and the LA Dodgers. To end an amazing spirit week we had Cardinal Pride day. Students and teachers came wearing all their cardinal gear to show off all their spirit. Each day students with ID cards has the opportunity to go to the spirit table and earn a tally mark for their team. Congratulations to the class of 2020 for showing the most spirit. During lunches this week we also had games going on. The games were a fabulous chance for our royalty and other students to take on some awesome challenges and have some fun.

On Friday we had an amazing rally that showcased our awesome homecoming royalty, band, drumline, color guard, and our infinite motion dance team. Friday evening was the homecoming football game where our Cardinals took on the Valley High School Vikings. Congratulations to our football team for taking the big Win!!! At the game we showcased the amazing floats that students from all grades have put so much effort into. The floats included Go Diego Go from the class of 2021, Jumanji from the class of ‘2020, Indiana Jones from the class of ‘19 and Jungle Book from the class of ‘18. So many great students came very day after school for 3 hours and during some lunches to make sure that these floats looked great and their hard work was definitely worth it.

To end it all we had our homecoming dance on Saturday evening where over 800 students came to show off their threads and their dance moves. Shout out to everyone who participated this week and went out to support our football team! That’s it from the Cardinals this week.

Tips for students: If you didn’t participate in spirit wear this week you’ll have other chances; just keep listening for the announcements and remember showing spirit IS NOT lame.
