Bad start to “Domestic Violence Awareness Month” in Elk Grove

 

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. From Friday morning to Sunday night, there were 8 domestic violence incidents in the Elk Grove Police Department Daily Watch Summary.  These do not include other incidents that do not make the summary.  Two of the incidents involved out of town residents, including one resident form Turlock that led EGPD and then CHP on a 32 mile pursuit.

 

Friday, September 29

Time:  1355 hours

Suspect:  OWENS, RASHEED (BMA, 18, ARRESTED)

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) and V-1 were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, S-1 pushed the victim to the ground while V-1 was holding their child. When V-1 stood up, S-1 pushed V-1 against a wall then pushed V-1 down to the ground again. While on the ground, S-1 kicked V-1 in the legs. S-1 was arrested then transported to the main jail.

Suspect:  DIAS, RUBEN (HMA, 38, ARRESTED)

S-1 (Turlock resident) and V-1 were involved in a verbal argument at a gas station that escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, S-1 grabbed and squeezed V-1. S-1 then forced V-1 into a nearby parked vehicle by way of the front passenger door. When a witness said that they were calling 911, S-1 entered the vehicle from the driver’s side door. V-1 was able to get out of the vehicle and S-1 drove away from the gas station. Responding officers located S-1 driving the described vehicle and attempted to conduct a vehicle stop. S-1 did not yield and led officers on a pursuit that travelled southbound on Highway 99. CHP took over the pursuit and disabled the vehicle S-1 was driving in Stockton. S-1 fled on foot after the pursuit and was taken into custody by CHP officers. CHP officers turned S-1 over to EGPD officers. S-1 was arrested then transported to the main jail. V-1 suffered visible injuries and the pursuit travelled 32 miles.

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) and V-1 were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, S-1 struck V-1 several times and also bit V-1. S-1 was arrested then transported to the main jail.

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) and V-1 were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, S-1 struck V-1 in the face. V-1 suffered a visible injury. S-1 was arrested then transported to the main jail. V-1 was granted an emergency protective order against S-1.

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) and V-1 were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, S-1 pushed V-1 causing V-1 to fall backwards. S-1 was detained then transported to a local area hospital for treatment of an unrelated medical condition. S-1 was arrested then issued a citation and released.

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) and V-1 were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, S-1 pushed V-1 several times and caused V-1 to fall to the ground. S-1 also grabbed V-1 by the neck. V-1 suffered visible injuries. S-1 was arrested then transported to the main jail.

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) and V-1 were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, S-1 grabbed and pushed V-1. When V-1’s son attempted to intervene, he was struck by S-1. S-1 was arrested then transported to the main jail.
