Elk Grove police looking for man responsible for November shooting

 

 

Elk Grove Police are looking for a man that is responsible for a shooting that took place on November 27 in Old Town Elk Grove.

 

25 year old William Potts is a suspect in the November 27th shooting.  He is believed to be armed and dangerous, possibly in the Stockton area.  Potts is charged with negligently discharging a firearm, assault with a firearm and corporal injury to a spouse.  Potts has a previous criminal history. He was given 5 years probation for an assault with a deadly weapon charge after he pleaded no contest.  He was also found guilty of theft and receiving stolen property.

 

Potts is 5’6″, 120 lbs, with a tattoo that says “Heidi’s Baby” and red lips on right side of his neck. Anyone with information on Potts’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Elk Grove Police Department, Detective Mark Bearor at 916-478-8066.
