Elk Grove mom arrested for shoplifting, leaves child behind in store

 

Shortly after 8 pm on Wednesday, Elk Grove police responded to call for service at Dollar Tree, in the 8600 block of Elk Grove Blvd.  A woman was in store shopping with two children, when she was observed shoplifting by employees.  The employees confronted the woman and then she fled with one child and left the other one behind. A short time later, the child that fled with the woman came back to get the other child.  Responding officers observed the woman and two kids running across a busy roadway.  Officers detained and arrested 39 year old Vera Henry of Elk Grove.  She was charged with shoplifting and felony child endangerment. The children were released to their father.
